Company Profile

AWAK Technologies Pte Ltd was incorporated in April 2007 with licensed technology from University of California, Los Angeles. The company was set-up to address the end-stage renal disease (ESRD) market through the research development and supply of wearable dialysis machine AWAK, Automated Wearable Artificial Kidney as well as its consumables. We are currently collaborating with Temasek Polytechnic, for the research and development.

It was founded by Dr Gordon Ku (Chairman of Kidney Dialysis Foundation), Dr. David B. N. Lee and Dr. Martin Roberts (both of the United States Department of Veterans Affairs Healthcare System and David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA), and Mr. Neo Kok Beng. Dr David B. N. Lee and Dr Martin Roberts are also inventors of the licensed technologies and serve as Chief Scientists in the Company.

AWAK Technologies Pte Ltd is dedicated to provide safe and quality medical devices which meet customer and applicable regulatory requirements in the establishment of our Quality Management System.

We are committed to working within a Quality Management System coupled with an effective Risk Management Process to achieve our aim with efficiency and consistency. It is the duty of all individuals of AWAK to make their contribution to quality improvement and ensure that we do our job right the first time.

AWAK Technologies was certified by SGS for ISO 13485 Quality Management System with the scope of designing, manufacturing and distributing medical devices in Sep 2008.

AWAK clinical trial will be done in Singapore General Hospital at the start of 2011.
