Dr David B. N. Lee, MB, BS, FRCP, FACPChief ScientistDr. Lee completed his secondary education at the Raffles Institution, Singapore and medical school at the Medical Faculty of University of Hong Kong. After completing his internship at the General Hospital, Singapore, he taught for one year as an assistant lecturer in physiology, the National University of Singapore. Thereafter, he worked for three years at the Royal Free Hospital and the Royal Postgraduate Medical School, both in London, England. He then moved to UCLA, where, after completing his nephrology fellowship, was successively appointed as the Director of the Dialysis Program, the Director of the Kidney Transplant Program and the Chief of the UCLA-San Fernando Valley Nephrology Program. He is currently a nephrology consultant at the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System and a Professor of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Dr. Lee has published extensively in the field of kidney disease, dialysis and transplantation. |
Dr Martin Roberts, BS, MA, PhDChief ScientistDr. Roberts completed his Bachelors degree at the College of the City of New York, Masters at Brooklyn College and Doctorate in biochemistry at the University of Southern California. He then entered private industry, developing intravenous solutions, peritoneal dialysates, and catheters for Don Baxter, hemodialysis equipment and blood tubing sets for the Seattle Artificial Kidney Supply Company and sorbent hemodialysis equipment and supplies for Organon Teknika. On retiring, he joined Dr. Lee as Co-Director of the Laboratory for Artificial Kidney Innovation and Development at the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System. He is currently a Dialysis Research and Development Consultant at the VA and an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Dr. Roberts has published extensively in the field of sorbent hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis. He has several patents including some on peritoneal dialysis solutions and equipment. |
Liu Xin Sean, B.Eng, MTDOperation DirectorMr. Liu graduated from National University of Singapore with First Class Honors in B.Eng. Two years later, he achieved his Master degree in Technological Design, which was a joint offer by National University of Singapore and Technische Universiteit Eindhoven. He was then employed by NextWave Biomedical Pte Ltd as Technical Manger, and was leading a team in the development of Personal Electrocardiograph Monitor with automatic diagnosis function. Thereafter, he joined AWAK Technologies with the position of Senior Operations Manager. He is in charge of the regulatory and compliance affairs and also leading the Operations Department that is responsible for production control, procurement and other R&D supporting activities. He had successfully implemented the ISO 13485 Quality Management System for the company in 2008. |
Jasmin Wong, SRN, Bsc (Nursing)Manager Clinical StudiesMs Wong completed her nursing training at School of Nursing, Singapore in 1991. She joined Ku Kidney & Medical Centre as a clinic manager in 1998. She then proceeded to complete her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at University of Southern Queensland. She also did a Course in Diabetic Counseling at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital which is the principal teaching hospital of the University of Sydney. She counseled patients on diabetic management as diabetic nephropathy is the most common cause of chronic renal failure and end-stage renal disease. Thereafter she joined AWAK Technologies as the Manager of Clinical Trials. She is now in charge of managing and co-coordinating clinical trials in Singapore and US. |
